Hi, I’m Chris Moore, the founder the Florida Phenoms. I started our first travel team in Naples in 2007. I was interested in bringing together the best athletes from the area to compete against teams from larger cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
After a 28-14 record and a third place finish in the USSSA Florida state championships, the Phenoms inaugural season was one to build on.
Thirteen years later and the Phenoms organization has developed into the premier boys youth basketball organization in Southwest Florida hosting regular training clinics as well as competitive travel teams.
The Florida Phenoms seek to empower boys to achieve their academic and athletic goals in a fun and supportive environment. By working together to achieve this mission, our boys and young men have an opportunity to grow into successful, happy, and healthy adults. While basketball is the common bond of our organization, it is not the sole focus.
Education is essential for the boys to have a successful future, and there are responsibilities that must be upheld for them to participate in our basketball program. Likewise, family and community are also important parts of the Phenom’s mission. This includes treating those around you with respect and being a positive influence in the community.
The Phenoms boast an impressive collection of local, state, and national championships from the country’s leading youth basketball entities: AAU, YBOA, USAB, USBA, and USSSA. The number of student-athletes in the Phenom organization has grown to include boys teams from the fourth through eleventh grade.
The inaugural group of student-athletes have since graduated from college, and several classes of Phenoms have followed in their footsteps. The Phenoms future continues to look very bright!

For every player, like it or not, eventually the competitive ball playing days end. What then? Education is a key to a lifetime of success long after basketball playing days are over.
Tournament overseers ask for report cards for prove of age. Phenoms coaches are looking at the grades!
Think you have what it takes to be a Florida Phenom? Our organization boasts numerous tournament wins, twelve state, and three national titles.

Our primary purpose is to teach the game of basketball and general athleticism through a variety of drills that improve the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, and footwork. We put it together with one-on-one, situational play and live scrimmages.
