MORE THAN BASKETBALL
THE PHENOMS FAMILY

“We moved to Naples in 2020 seeking community, friendships, and an opportunity for our son, Ryan, to grow. Being the new kid in town at 10 years old wasn’t easy, but Coach Moore and the Phenoms welcomed him like family.

The life lessons, relationships, and player development were everything we had hoped for—and more.

Today, Ryan is a Division I basketball player. The skill development, coaching, and travel basketball experience he gained with the Phenoms played a vital role in helping him reach this milestone.

Coach Moore and the entire Phenoms organization have their fingerprints all over this incredible accomplishment. We couldn’t be more grateful!”

"Being a part of the Phenoms basketball program was about much more than just basketball. Coach Chris created an environment that pushed us to compete, work hard, stay disciplined, and hold ourselves accountable. Looking back, those lessons played a major role in shaping my mindset and work ethic as an athlete.
The competitive atmosphere taught me how to embrace challenges, handle adversity, and continue pushing forward when things weren’t going my way. Those experiences helped prepare me for the adversity I’ve faced throughout college football, now in the NFL, and even in everyday life. I learned early on that success isn’t just about talent, but about how you respond when things get difficult. That mindset has stayed with me throughout my journey and played a major role in helping me reach my dream of playing in the NFL.
I’m grateful for Coach Chris and the Phenoms program because they didn’t just focus on developing better basketball players, but better young men as well. The lessons I learned through the program are ones I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

“Coach Chris and his Phenoms program are truly one of a kind. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Coach Chris for over 20 years, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact he has had on basketball players throughout Southwest Florida.

As a high school basketball coach, I have a unique perspective on what the Phenoms program develops. Many of these young men eventually come through our program, and they arrive with three qualities that stand out: they compete, they can handle the basketball, and they are coachable.

You’ve really never seen anything like Coach Chris in his happy place—the middle of a packed gym filled with players of all ages. His sessions move from skill development and one-on-one work to high-paced, competitive games. He knows when a player is ready to be challenged against older, more experienced competition, and that preparation carries over when they reach the high school level.

But Coach Chris develops more than basketball skills. His teaching, expectations, and conversations prepare young men mentally for high school basketball and beyond. He helps players become the best version of themselves—both as players and as people. Coach Chris is a true blessing to Southwest Florida and especially to Community School of Naples.”

"I played with the Phenoms from 4th grade through 10th grade, and the program played an important role in my development both on and off the basketball court. Being part of the Phenoms taught me how to work with different personalities toward a common goal, overcome adversity, take on difficult challenges, and accept constructive criticism in order to grow.

Those lessons have stayed with me well beyond basketball and still impact me today in my career as a Staff Accountant with Brown & Brown. Whether I’m collaborating with others, tackling a challenging project, or receiving feedback, I rely on many of the habits and lessons I developed during my years with the Phenoms.

The program taught me the importance of being coachable, accountable, and willing to push through adversity—qualities that have helped me throughout my education, career, and life."

"Being part of the Phenoms from 3rd through 10th grade was one of the most important and life-changing experiences of my childhood. It was more than just playing sports; it was about creating a brotherhood, building lifelong friendships, and learning how to come together despite our different backgrounds and lifestyles. Throughout those years, I learned the importance of hard work, discipline, dedication, teamwork, and pushing through challenges no matter the circumstances. The opportunities we were given helped shape my mindset, teaching me to stay motivated, work for what I want, and never take anything for granted. This experience prepared me for my collegiate football career at New Mexico State and Northern Iowa by developing my leadership skills, confidence, responsibility, and ability to work with people from all walks of life. The lessons I learned have carried over into my everyday life, helping me overcome obstacles, pursue my goals, and become a better person. I will forever be grateful for the Phenoms because they didn't just help shape me as an athlete, but also built the foundation for the person I am today and the person I strive to become."

“Our family was part of the Phenoms family for eight incredible years. Following in the footsteps of his older brother Parker (class of 2024), Spencer started playing in second grade and continued through ninth grade.

Throughout those years, Spencer built lifelong friendships while spending countless hours in the gym. The bonds formed through Phenoms span generations, as friends and siblings look up to one another, share dreams, and pass down their love for the game.

Coach Chris Moore leads by example and has inspired so many young men. He holds his players accountable while teaching invaluable life lessons that extend far beyond the basketball court.”
